Psalm 34:6 This poor soul cried, and was heard by the Lord, and was saved from every trouble. I recall a few years ago, a family friend shared that she had a dream and one of my loved ones wasn't well, my loved one had surgery and shortly after died. This friend of the family shared has a prophetic gift so this dream negatively impacted one of my family members that learned of the dream. I was irritated that my family member would be so passive regarding the meaning of the dream. I remember taking a moment to calm myself before telling my family member, “God reveals to heal. Every dream or vision is not final. There are some things that can be arbitrated or terminated through intercession and prayer. Therefore, our job is not to accept this dream as a forthtelling of what is to come. Our job is to pray for the protection and wellbeing of our loved one who is unwell.” Afterwards, I began to cry out to God (i.e. pray and petition ELOHIM) concerning my loved one. I obtained peace regarding my loved one's life and wellbeing and felt as though the trouble had passed. Are you concerned about a loved one? Perhaps your concern references the age or health of a loved one. I can relate. My request of the LORD has been that my parents would live long, have good health and prosper so that I and my siblings can be a blessing to them in life so that they lack nothing. I have cried out to the LORD about this for so many years because my parents have been faithful to care for me and my siblings, the church, and others. I want to be an instrument that the LORD uses to tremendously bless them in this life. Seeing both of my parents ageing, in good health and prospering motivates me to keep pressing forward to reach my dreams and goals. I know that soon I will have the resources and time to lavish love (and some high-quality tangible things) on them. Being with them in this moment encourages me to keep trusting in ELOHIM Mekaddishkem, the LORD my Sanctifier, for I know that the LORD hears my cry and pities my groans. The LORD has been faithful to me and my family and is worthy of my worship, praise and testimony of the goodness of the LORD.
Prayer: Adonai Shamma, thank You for listening to my prayers and petitions. You are mighty to save. I know this because You have saved my soul and saved me and those that I love from trouble. You are diligent to raise a standard against the floods of the enemy. For this I rejoice! I know that You love me well and desire the best for me. Thank you for also loving well and desiring the best for the people that I love, like and know along with those that I do not have relationship with and do not like. Truly, Your goodness and mercy endure forever to all generations! _____ written by Myrina K. Robinson Duke Divinity School MDiv 2022 Guest Blogger for BWET Blog
